Chicken and Spinach Pinwheels

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box frozen chopped spinach (9 ounce package)
  • 1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cups finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 2 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cups chopped cooked chicken
  • 3/4 cups Asiago cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cups Ranch dressing
  • 1 can Pillsbury Refrigerated Crescent Rolls (8 ounce. tube) or seamless dough sheet
  • 1 whole egg, beaten

Instructions
 

  • Heat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  • Cook spinach in the microwave as directed on the box. Drain spinach in strainer andallow it to cool for 5 minutes. Carefully squeeze with a paper towel to drain well.
  • In a 10-inch skillet, heat oil over medium heat, add onion and garlic. Cook for 2 to 3minutes, stirring occasionally, until crisp-tender. Remove from heat. Stir in spinach,bacon, chicken, cheese and ranch dressing.
  • Unroll dough on a work surface. Press the seams of the crescent rolls firmly together.Spread spinach mixture across the surface of the rectangle to within 1/2 inch of edges.Starting at a long side of the rectangle, roll it up into a log and seal the seams bypressing gently. With a serrated knife, cut into 20 slices.
  • Place slices cut side down on the cookie sheet. Brush with the egg. Bake for 10 to 15minutes or until golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet. Serve warm.
