Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • ½ onion, coarsely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 Portuguese hot pepper or habanero pepper, sliced

Instructions
 

  • Combine the sugar, water, vinegar, onions and garlic and simmer for about 10 minutes until the sugar dissolves. Letit cool. Add the peppers and marinate overnight.
