Ingredients
  

  • Morel mushrooms
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup peanut oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Sassafras root

Instructions
 

  • After a successful early spring hunt fortheelusive woodland morel mushroom,slicelengthwise and wash clean. Pat dry.
  • Wet both halvesin water or egg bath and dredgethrough flour.
  • Fry and turn morel in hot peanut oil until desiredcrispness. Drain on papertowel. Add salt andpepperto taste.
  • Thisspring tradition combines well with a springtonic ofsassafrasroot tea.
