Ingredients
  

  • 4 medium (about 1.kg) flourypotatoes peeled
  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  • 1 egg, lightly whisked
  • Pinch of flaked salt
  • Cracked black pepper
  • Crispy bacon to serve (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Turn on the Grill and set to 200°C.
  • Coarsely grate the potatoes into a clean teatowel. Use your hands to twist out as muchexcess liquid as possible. Transfer potatoes to alarge bowl.
  • Add the flour, egg, salt and black pepper to thepotato, and stir until well combined. Oncepreheated lightly coat the plates with butter.Place ¼ cup measure of the potato mixtureonto the griddle and flatten into patties about1cm thick. Cook for about 2–3 minutes eachside until lightly browned and crispy.
  • Remove and transfer to a wire rack to maintaincrispiness while cooking next batch of hashbrowns. Serve with bacon.
