Equipment

  • 6 bamboo skewers, soaked in cold waterfor 30 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 1 tablespoon sake
  • 2 teaspoon mirin
  • 2 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoon dark brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • inch piece of ginger, peeled androughly sliced
  • 1 pound of ½-inch thick sliced pork belly,cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 6 scallions
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions
 

  • Combine soy sauce, sake, mirin, rice wine vinegar, darkbrown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, kosher salt, andginger in a bowl.
  • Add the pork belly to the marinade and massage themarinade into the meat.
  • Cover and place into the refrigerator for 5 hours.
  • Remove from the fridge and pat the pork belly dry with papertowels. Set aside and allow to sit at room temperature for 1hour.
  • Cut off the thinner dark green part of the scallion and discard.
  • Cut the trimmed scallions into thirds
  • Skewer a piece of pork belly, followed by a piece of scallion,then repeat until the skewer is filled. Place the skewers ontothe food tray
  • Select the Preheat function on the Cosori Smart Air FryerToaster Oven, adjust temperature to 450°F, and pressStart/Pause.
  • Insert the food tray with yakitori at top position in thepreheated oven.
  • Select the Broil and Shake functions, then press Start/Pause.
  • Flip the yakitori halfway through cooking. The ShakeReminder will let you know when.
  • Remove when done and serve with a wedge of lemon.
